I wanted HO scale

I have no idea how this happened. I was online researching HO scale tombstones to go in the grounds of a church in a model railway. I found something that looked sufficiently rustic and bought it. It wasn’t cheap, and then there’s postage. When it finally arrives, it is completely the wrong scale. So do I spend more time and money sending it back, or write it off as a bad purchase, or painstakingly try to cut the models down??? Be very careful if you buy on this site.
