Found at depths of up to 2,600 feet, the tiger shark is an exceptionally large species of shark found in oceans all throughout the globe. Tiger sharks are what’s known as a requiem shark, which is undoubtedly the most well known family of shark.
History:
Despite their size, tiger shark attacks on humans are exceptionally rare. They are noted for having the widest food spectrum of all sharks, and will essentially eat anything they can get their mouths on. In fact, tiger sharks are sometimes jokingly referred to as the “wastebasket of the sea,” because they’ve even been known to eat debris such as tires, nails, and license plates.
