History:

The American Revolutionary lasted from 1775 to 1783, and was mainly fought between Great Britain and the North American colonies allied with the French. Given that the individuals in the American colonies were still considered British citizens, Great Britain saw fit to tax them. However, as taxes steadily increased, colonists began to revolt, culminating in events like the Boston Tea Party. The war officially began in 1775 when British and Colonial forces fired on one another in Lexington and Concord. What followed is arguably one of the most important and influential moments in the history of both the United States and Great Britain.
