This robust vehicle offered high payload capacity, with about 200,000 units manufactured across thirteen variants—including the US6-U3 truck and US6-U5 fuel tanker. Chevrolet (then a part of General Motors Company) also produced military two-axle trucks. Their Model 7117 was an all-wheel drive vehicle with a 1.5-ton payload capacity, featuring a metal cabin and a transmission-powered mechanical winch. The US Army primarily deployed these vehicles for auxiliary tasks within the continental United States.
